Before Avery ever painted a wedding, she spent years helping people find their voices as a speech-language pathologist. Today, she has traded the clinic for the canvas, creating live paintings at weddings, fundraisers, corporate events, and custom commissions while raising her family. Although the medium has changed, her work still centers around people, connection, and preserving moments that matter.

More Than a Live Wedding Painter
Most couples first discover Avery through her live wedding paintings, where guests gather throughout the celebration to watch a blank canvas slowly become an heirloom. There is something incredibly special about seeing your story unfold brushstroke by brushstroke while the day is still happening around you.
One of my favorite parts of watching her work was realizing she doesn't simply paint for her couples—she invites them into the experience. Couples even have the opportunity to add a few brushstrokes to their own painting, making the finished piece something they truly created together. It's such a simple idea, but one that transforms an already meaningful keepsake into something even more personal.

An Eye for the Little Things
During our conversation, Avery shared an idea that immediately made me smile.
Of course she loves painting ceremonies and first dances, but what really excites her are the details most people overlook—the half-finished wedding cake, the champagne bottles after the toast, flowers beginning to wilt after a day of celebration, handwritten vows resting on a table.
Those ordinary details often become the strongest memories years later.
As someone whose entire approach to photography is built around noticing the quiet moments between the big ones, hearing her describe those ideas felt incredibly familiar. Different medium. Same heart.

As beautiful as Avery's paintings are, what stayed with me most after meeting her was simply... Avery.
She is warm, welcoming, endlessly encouraging, and genuinely joyful to be around. She celebrates the people around her just as enthusiastically as she celebrates her own work, and she has a way of making you feel comfortable almost immediately.
