DOCUMENTARY FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY • KILLEEN, TEXAS

Killeen Family
Photographer

For the beautifully ordinary moments you'll never want to forget.

The moments you'll treasure most rarely happen while everyone is looking at the camera.

They happen in the middle of living.

A toddler giggling upside down. Your partner laughing from across the room. The family dog wandering into the frame because, of course, they're part of the story too.

As a Killeen family photographer, I create documentary family sessions that preserve the beautifully ordinary moments that make your family yours.

BUILD YOUR STORY

Based in Killeen and serving families throughout Central Texas and beyond.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF FAMILY SESSION

Childhood isn't posed.
Why should your photographs be?

Most children aren't interested in standing perfectly still, smiling on command, or looking at the camera every few minutes.

Honestly... I don't expect them to.

My sessions are built around movement, curiosity, and connection. We'll splash in puddles, bake cookies, explore new places, chase bubbles, climb rocks, collect flowers, or simply spend a slow morning together at home.

Instead of asking your children to perform for the camera, I let them be exactly who they already are.

The result is a gallery filled with genuine laughter, quiet cuddles, muddy boots, missing front teeth, tiny hands reaching for yours, and all of the beautifully ordinary moments you'll someday wish you could step back into for just a minute longer.

"Because years from now, your children won't remember being told to smile. They'll remember what it felt like to be little."

BUILD YOUR STORY

No two families are the same.
Your session shouldn't be either.

Every family has their own rhythm, traditions, favorite places, and little moments that make them who they are. Instead of choosing a location and hoping for the best, we'll build a session around your story.

Little Wonders

Childhood through curious eyes. Splashing in puddles, collecting wildflowers, climbing rocks, chasing bubbles, and discovering tiny adventures hidden inside ordinary days.

Chasing Adventure

For the families who never stop exploring. From skateparks and lakes to hiking trails, downtown streets, camping trips, and everywhere in between.

Home Sweet Home

Slow mornings. Pancakes. Blanket forts. Baking cookies. Bedtime stories. The quiet moments that become some of life's most treasured memories.

Whatever the Weather

Rain boots. Umbrellas. Snow angels. Windy afternoons. Sometimes the weather doesn't interrupt the story... it becomes part of it.

KILLEEN FAMILY PHOTO LOCATIONS

Places that give your story somewhere to unfold.

The best location isn't always the prettiest one. It's the place that gives your family something to do, somewhere to explore, and enough room to forget about the camera for a while.

01

Heritage Oaks

Killeen, Texas

Big oak trees, open space, soft evening light, and plenty of room for little ones to wander. A beautiful option for families who want something timeless, relaxed, and close to home.

Best for: golden hour, toddlers, maternity, barefoot-in-the-grass kind of evenings.

02

Chalk Ridge Falls

Belton, Texas

Water, trails, rocks, little coves, and the kind of setting that naturally turns a photo session into an adventure. One of my favorite choices for families who don't mind getting a little messy.

Best for: creek crossing, rain boots, paper boats, movement, adventurous families.

03

Dana Peak

Harker Heights, Texas

Wide-open views, trails, rocky textures, and beautiful Texas light. Dana Peak works especially well for families who want their session to feel expansive and a little wild.

Best for: sunset, older kids, adventure sessions, earthy wardrobe palettes.

04

Stillhouse Hollow Lake

Central Texas

Water always gives kids something to interact with. Skip rocks, splash at the edge, bring a picnic, or simply let the evening unfold beside the lake.

Best for: summer sessions, barefoot families, picnic stories, movement near the water.

05

Downtown Belton

Belton, Texas

Brick, storefronts, sidewalks, coffee stops, and plenty of opportunities to keep moving. A great alternative for families who want something less traditional than a field at sunset.

Best for: playful urban sessions, older kids, coffee or ice cream stops, colorful wardrobes.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Less posing.
More living.

You do not need children who sit still, a perfectly behaved toddler, or a family that knows what to do in front of a camera.

You just need to show up as yourselves.

I will give you enough direction that you never feel awkward, but enough freedom that the photographs still feel like your family. We might start with a walk, a game, a snack, a favorite activity, or something completely ordinary that gives everyone a reason to interact instead of perform.

Your kids can wander. They can need a break. They can climb into your lap, change their mind, get distracted, make a mess, or decide the most interesting part of the session is a stick they found on the ground.

None of that ruins the session.

Most of the time, that is the session.

01

We start slowly.

No immediate pressure to perform. We give everyone a minute to settle in, explore, and forget that this is supposed to be a photoshoot.

02

I guide when you need it.

I may give you something to do, somewhere to walk, or a little prompt that creates connection. I am never expecting you to manufacture a moment.

03

Your kids get to be kids.

Movement, curiosity, silliness, snack breaks, muddy knees, and changing moods are all welcome here.

04

I watch for what happens between.

The hand reaching for yours. The way they look at Dad. The laugh after the joke. The tiny things you may not even realize are happening.

You are not coming to me to prove that your family can behave beautifully for a camera.

You are coming to remember what it felt like to belong to each other.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The things families usually want to know first.

You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what to do. Most families have the same questions before a session, so here are the answers.

What if my toddler does not cooperate?

Then we let them be a toddler.

Your child does not need to sit still, smile on command, or stay interested in the same thing for an entire session. I build family sessions around movement, play, curiosity, and connection so there is room for snack breaks, wandering, big feelings, silliness, and everything else that comes with being little.

What happens if it rains?

Rain does not automatically mean we cancel.

Sometimes it means umbrellas, puddles, rain boots, coffee shops, cozy moments at home, or an entirely different kind of adventure. If the weather is unsafe, we will make a new plan. Otherwise, I am always open to letting the weather become part of the story.

What should we wear for family photos?

Start with clothes that feel like you.

I usually recommend coordinating rather than matching and choosing pieces that allow everyone to move comfortably. Texture, layers, lived-in denim, dresses that move, overalls, boots, sweaters, and playful accessories can all photograph beautifully depending on the story we are creating.

I also help with wardrobe direction once we know what your session is going to feel like.

Where do family sessions take place?

Anywhere that supports your family's story.

That might be your home, Heritage Oaks in Killeen, a creek near Belton, Dana Peak, the lake, downtown, a favorite coffee shop, or somewhere completely personal to your family.

I photograph families throughout Killeen and the surrounding Central Texas area and help choose a setting based on the kind of experience you want rather than simply picking the prettiest field.

Do you photograph babies and newborns too?

Yes. I photograph maternity, newborn, Fresh 48, and family stories.

Newborn sessions are especially beautiful at home, where your baby can be photographed in the spaces that already belong to this chapter of your life: the nursery, your bed, the kitchen, the couch, or wherever your family naturally settles together.

Can we bring our dog?

Absolutely.

If your dog is part of your everyday family life, they belong in the photographs too. We can choose a pet-friendly location or build the session around home so they can be included naturally.

How far in advance should we book?

The earlier you reach out, the more flexibility we have with dates, locations, and your story concept.

Fall evenings, weekends, maternity windows, and milestone sessions tend to book sooner, but if you are working with a shorter timeline, it is always worth asking.

Do you pose families?

I guide more than I pose.

I will never leave you wondering what to do with your hands, but I also do not want every photograph to feel manufactured. I give you prompts, movement, and things to do together, then photograph what happens naturally inside those moments.

STORIES FROM ACROSS CENTRAL TEXAS

The story matters more
than the location.

Whether we are wandering through Austin, exploring a creek near Belton, spending a slow morning at home, or chasing rain through Central Texas, the goal is always the same: to preserve the moments that already matter.

Home is wherever your story unfolds.

Based in Killeen, Texas, I regularly photograph families throughout Harker Heights, Belton, Temple, Salado, Georgetown, Austin, Round Rock, Buda, Cedar Park, Waco, and the surrounding Central Texas communities.

READY TO TELL YOUR STORY?

Let's create something
your children will treasure someday.

The photographs your family will cherish most probably haven't happened yet.

Maybe they're waiting in a slow Saturday morning. A favorite park. Your grandmother's backyard. A walk downtown. A rainy afternoon. Or simply another ordinary day that doesn't feel important until years from now.

I'd be honored to help you remember it.
